A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.
Straight answers.

What Blockquote is, what we’re building, and how to get involved.

What is Blockquote?

Blockquote is a headless CMS coming soon for people and external AI agents. Its planned content system combines developer-defined schemas, collaborative drafts, Portable Text, and website integration through an SDK and MCP.

What does AI-native mean for a CMS?

For Blockquote, it means an external agent should be able to discover content schemas, set up a site, create page content, and help connect a frontend through an authorized MCP interface. The main goal is working with the AI tools you choose.

Will I have to use Blockquote’s built-in AI?

No. The planned MCP interface is for external AI tools. Optional built-in editorial assistance will help with drafts and translations, but it is not required for the external-agent workflow and has not shipped yet.

Will Blockquote work with Next.js and other frameworks?

The content backend is designed to be independent of your frontend. A TypeScript SDK and a Next.js integration example are planned. Your website will own its components, routes, and rendering. Public access is coming soon.

Can several people administer several sites?

Yes. The foundation supports multiple site memberships with administrator, editor, publisher, and viewer roles. Site administrators can invite collaborators and manage access. Site creation is restricted to the platform owner before launch.

Will Blockquote support multiple languages?

Localization is an opt-in part of the design from the first version. Sites support validated language tags, regional variants, linked content translations, locale-aware delivery, and independent publishing.

What rich-text format will Blockquote use?

Portable Text is the planned storage and delivery contract. It represents text, annotations, and custom blocks as structured JSON. The editor and collaboration integration must preserve that format before content editing is released.

Can I migrate from WordPress or Elementor?

WordPress and Elementor importers are on the roadmap and are not available yet. The planned pipeline includes a dry run, field and media mapping, content conversion, and a report of unsupported widgets. Matching an existing site’s visual design will remain a frontend task.

How much will Blockquote cost?

Pricing has not been announced. Join the waitlist for availability updates. There are no published plans or purchase options yet.

Does joining the waitlist create an account?

No. Waitlist registration records your interest and sends a confirmation link. It does not create a CMS account or grant access to any site. Access is coming soon.
